How to Get to Ischia 2026: Ferries, Hydrofoils and Transfers

Getting to Ischia by sea

Ischia is connected to the mainland by regular ferry and hydrofoil services from Naples and Pozzuoli. Choosing the right route depends on whether you are travelling with a car, how much time you have and where you are coming from.

Ferries to Ischia (cars and passengers)

Ferries are the best option if you are bringing a vehicle or travelling with heavy luggage.

  • From Naples — Calata Porta di Massa: approximately 90 minutes. Frequent departures throughout the day.
  • From Pozzuoli: approximately 60 minutes. Recommended if you are driving from northern or central Italy, as it avoids Naples city-centre traffic.

Tip: book your ferry online in advance, especially during the summer months.

Hydrofoils to Ischia (passengers only)

The fastest way to reach the island if you are travelling without a car.

  • From Naples — Molo Beverello: approximately 50 minutes. This is the most convenient pier if you are arriving from the airport via the Alibus shuttle.
  • Recommended arrival port: Forio is the closest port to Hotel Bellavista (10–15 minutes), but Ischia Porto and Casamicciola are also well connected.

Prefer a stress-free arrival? Our door-to-door transfer service takes care of everything: private driver in Naples, ferry ticket and taxi on arrival in Ischia — straight to your room with no queues or connections to worry about. Message us on WhatsApp for a quick quote.

Getting to Ischia from Naples airport or train station

If you land at Naples Capodichino airport, reaching the ferry terminals is straightforward:

  • Alibus shuttle: the official airport bus connects Capodichino with Molo Beverello (hydrofoils) and Porta di Massa (ferries). Departures roughly every 20 minutes.
  • Taxi: ask for the fixed municipal fare to the port (approximately €25) before getting in.
  • Metro: direct connection to the port area (Municipio stop).

How to reach Hotel Bellavista in Panza (Forio)

Once you arrive on the island, there are several ways to get to us:

By taxi (recommended with luggage)

Always ask for the fixed municipal fare before departure.

  • From Ischia Porto: approximately €40–50 (Fare no. 8 to Panza). Journey time: 30–40 minutes.
  • From Forio port: approximately €15–20. Journey time: 10–15 minutes.

By public bus (EAV)

  • From Ischia Porto: take Line 171 or Line 198 (counter-clockwise circular). Get off two stops after Panza Centro.
  • Tickets: buy them at the ticket office or a newsagent at the port before boarding — on-board prices are higher.
  • The bus stop is just a few steps from the hotel.

By car

  • Follow signs for Forio → Panza.
  • The hotel has free outdoor parking.
  • Important: from Easter to October, vehicles registered in the Campania region are normally subject to a landing ban. If you are coming from other Italian regions or from abroad, access is usually permitted, but always check the current regulations before travelling.
